We are currently working on compiling a list of Alberta Resources for Families to utilize. Financial Supports


Program Name: Aish ( Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped)

What the program is: AISH provides financial and health benefits to eligible Albertans with a disability.

Program Name: Child Disability Benefit 
Location of Program: Canada

What the program is: The child disability benefit (CDB) is a tax-free benefit for families who care for a child under age 18 who is eligible for the disability tax credit.
Age group: under 18


Program Name: Disability Tax Credit
Location of Program: Canada

What the program is: The disability tax credit (DTC) is a non-refundable tax credit that helps persons with disabilities or their supporting persons reduce the amount of income tax they may have to pay.
Age group: Any age


Program Name: Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)

What the program is: A registered disability savings plan (RDSP) is a savings plan that is intended to help parents and others save for the long term financial security of a person who is eligible for the disability tax credit (DTC).
Age group: contributions can be made until the end of the year in which the beneficiary turns 59


Program Name: Canada Pension Plan Disability

What the program is: Canada Pension Plan (CPP) provides disability benefits to people who have made enough contributions to the CPP and who are disabled and cannot work at any job on a regular basis.

Program Name: GRIT ( Getting Ready for inclusion today)

What the program is: The GRIT Program provides educational programming and family support for children eligible for Program Unit Funding (PUF).
